Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there was a foolish sailor. He owned an ugly horse who was very small, and had several bald patches. The sailor also had a son, who was very young, and did everything his father told him. The sailor decided to sell his horse in town for money for the winter. But on their journey, they met several judgmental people throughout the country.
On their way, hardly an hour into their trek, they passed a group of six girls going to a party.
"Look at those fools," one of them hissed, "Neither of them are even riding that horse!" The girls snickered and walked away.
The sailor instructed Finn (who was his son) to get up on the horse. The horse grumbled under the extra weight of the boy.
Later, they passed a group of Elderly United members who said, "Look at that rude young man, making his father walk while he rides that grumpy-looking horse! Children have no respect for their elders."
"Here, let me ride the horse," said the sailor.
A few hours later, they passed a group of women coming out of a weight watchers building.
"Look!" gasped one of them. "That poor boy is tired, yet his father is making him walk!"
So the boy was put back onto the horse.
A little while later, they passed a man who said, "Why do you wear your horse out like that? You could carry him as easily as he can carry you."
So the sailor tied the horse's legs to a pole and he and his obedient son carried the horse.
A crowd began to gather as they crossed a bridge. But the hooting of the crowd spooked the horse, and made him jump around, and all three fell off of the bridge. They spluttered around and almost drowned. The sailor was ashamed and angry because he had been so foolish.
If you try to please everyone, you won't please anyone.

Zorbon
My friend and I just landed on a planet while on a space ship trip to Frekiloni. But we went off course and landed on this planet Zorbon. The planet looks like a bag of moldy french fries covered in ranch dressing. The only reason I know the planet is Zorbon is because there is a sign that is a dinosaur in size that says: ZORBON. It is a ghastly planet filled with jagged rocks, there are craters like elevator shafts, spiky plants, and not to mention there aren't any McDonalds. The ground is a treacherous purple maze. The trees are like, huge blue q-tips and the four suns are maroon. The planet is as small as I can imagine, you can see the other side about a half mile off. I hope we get out of here!

Under the Rug
Two weeks passed and it happened again. Poor Mr. Johnson was about to go crazy. It was really hard on him. What was he going to do? He really didn't know what to do. There was something under the rug, but whenever he lifted it up, the bump disappeared. He saw the bump! There it was! He picked up his chair and smashed it, and it made a moaning noise. Then the bump slowly seemed to disappear. That was the last time Mr. Johnson would ever see the bump, he was free, free, free! But he never found out what the bulge in the rug was, and that was almost as bad as seeing it everyday. He wished for it to come back so he could see what it was. But it never did, and it never will.

The Pumpkin
She lowered the knife and it grew even brighter. She couldn't give up now, she had gotten this pumpkin at a high price. The thought of not being able to see frightened her, but after she cut the pumpkin open, everything would be fine, even better than before!
Her name was Sarah, and she had gotten that mysterious, glowing pumpkin from a man who sold all sorts of trinkets. She was so excited she could hardly wait. She cut open the pumpkin and screamed. This was not what she expected. Now she was stuck with it forever.

Flash Fiction
The door slowly opened revealing the fire inside. The fireman walked out carrying a small child. Another man from his team, Henry, rushed over to help him. Henry took the child and said, "Is there anyone else in there Peter?"
"I don't know, I'd better go check it out." So Peter ran back into the building. The child Henry was taking care of was alright, and so he looked up to see if Peter was coming out. But all he saw was an exploding building.
